Zan Times is an investigative newsroom that covers the human rights situation in Afghanistan with a focus on women, girls and the LGBTIQ+ community.  

Set up in response to the systematic repression after the Taliban takeover, Zan Times has since become a vital source of information, with its team of mostly women journalists working inside and outside Afghanistan to document the experience and tell the stories of women, girls and other marginalised groups.  

It collaborates with international media organisations and human rights organisations, participates in global forums, and provides a platform for Afghan activists to share their work with the aim of informing public and policy discussions and action to bring about the restoration of democratic freedoms and fundamental rights in Afghanistan.
