The Rahyab Initiative builds on the legacy of the Organisation for Rahyab Rehabilitation Services for the Blind, established in Afghanistan in 2008, continuing its mission to support individuals with visual impairment and other disabilities. Through education, and advocacy, Rahyab empowers people with disabilities to overcome barriers and lead lives of dignity, opportunity, and fulfilment.
Rahyab’s work includes supporting access to education for children with disabilities, providing independent living skills, and vocational training. It also advocates for the rights of individuals with disabilities, ensuring their voices are heard and the discrimination that they face in accessing education and other aspects of their lives are addressed at national and international levels.
