The Zan Times editorial team won the 2024 Palm Award for Freedom of Speech and the Press. The prestigious prize is awarded annually to individuals or organisations who demonstrate exceptional dedication to achieving freedom of speech and media. The jury recognised the “tremendous courage” of the Zan Times team in “exposing and documenting almost unimaginable discrimination” against women, girls and LGBTIQ+ people by the Taliban. 

Zan Times was honoured to share the award with Maryna Zolatava, an imprisoned Belarusian journalist.
