In early 2025, Rahyab initiated a groundbreaking pilot programme to bridge the digital divide for visually impaired youth in Afghanistan. Through three training sessions, twenty participants—young girls and boys—received essential computer training to support their digital inclusion and future development.
The training equipped participants with essential digital skills, including confident navigation of the Windows operating system using keyboard commands, safe and purposeful internet browsing, and mastery of screen-reading tools such as NVDA and JAWS.
These courses empower young people to pursue independent learning and enhance their career prospects. Several graduates have already secured jobs or enrolled in online education, demonstrating the programme’s immediate and lasting impact.
This pilot reflects Rahyab’s ongoing commitment to inclusive education for all—turning technology into a powerful tool of empowerment.
