In March 2025, Empowerment For Her’s Founder Tahmina Salik and Program Lead Zohreh Faizi joined the Danish delegation to the 69th Session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69) in New York.

As part of the world’s largest annual gathering focused on gender equality, Tahmina and Zohreh engaged with policymakers, activists, and international organisations to highlight the deteriorating rights situation in Afghanistan. They called for urgent global recognition of gender apartheid as a crime under international law and underscored the need for sustained political and financial support for Afghan women’s rights defenders.

Empowerment for Her’s participation amplified Afghan women’s voices on a global stage and reaffirmed the importance of standing in solidarity with those resisting gender oppression.
